Question:

My source file has a header record, and the fieldnames contain characters other than A thru Z and 0 thru 9. When I run the map, I get errors, and the target table is not created. How can I make this work?

Answer:

Whenever you are creating a table in a database, your mapping must adhere to the limitations/requirements of the target application. Refer to the target application's documentation for details about field names, then be sure the target field names in the target schema (in the Map Fields tab) meet the application's requirements. When using DataTools to create target tables you can enter and/or edit each target field name as needed.
