Question:

When trying to join 2 rather large CSV text files in the Data Joiner, I get this error when I click on the ""Browse Joined Data (Test)"" button: Method (~) of object (~) failed in TestJoin(DataJoiner.cls) (25542)

Answer:

In Data Joiner, do the following for each of the Source Connections. Follow these steps for Source Connection 1 first, and then follow the same steps for Source Connection 2.

  1. Select ""ASCII (Delimited)"" as the source connection type.
  2. In Source Properties, select the following:
    • Header = True (ONLY if there is a header record with field names)
    • StripLeadingBlanks = True
    • StripTrailingBlanks = True
    • StyleSampleSize = enter a new value that is at least as large (or slightly larger) than the total number of records in each source data file.
  3. Click on the ""Apply"" button to save the Source Properties changes.
  4. Connect to the data file.
  5. In the Join Settings tab, select the data fields and key field for each of your files.
  6. Click on the ""Browse Joined Data (Test)"" to verify that the data join is working as you need.
  7. Export the data.

If you still get the error, please submit a support request in the Data Joiners support forum and provide us with details.
