Btrieve to Pervasive PSQL

Pervasive Software is pleased to bring you Pervasive PSQL v10, the next step in the evolution of Btrieve. Pervasive PSQL v10 provides full compatibility with existing Btrieve API-based applications on all supported platforms without compromising the power and raw speed of Btrieve. Enhancements over Btrieve 5.x and 6.x include:

  • Support for Windows Vista and 64-bit Architectures
  • Higher performance and scalability
  • Industry standard relational data access through .NET, OLEDB, ODBC and JDBC
  • Continuous operations
  • Transaction Logging
  • Archival logging
  • Roll forward
  • Replication solutions for disaster recovery and distributed data environments
  • In addition, much, much more - all while leveraging your existing application and data investment.

In the tradition of Btrieve, each successive release of Pervasive PSQL drives down the total-cost-of-ownership. Dynamic settings, troubleshooting utilities, and straightforward reliability all combine to keep the total-cost-of-ownership low, not only in initial purchase costs, but also in terms of deployment and ongoing maintenance.

Developing with Pervasive PSQL

The Developer Center is an online Software Developers Kit (SDK) for Pervasive PSQL. Developers can logon and access Pervasive PSQL SDK components and updates to all of our supported access methods and platforms. You can choose the components that matter most to you. You also have access to everything the traditional SDK offers and more, including:

  • Development and testing edition of the Workgroup engine
  • Install Toolkit
  • Two free Developer Support incidents
  • Online access to a full Library including documentation, white papers and technical papers
  • Regularly updated code snippets and samples not included in the base component installs
