This chapter discusses how to use Microsoft Access to view and manipulate data in the sample database, which is installed with Pervasive.SQL. When you use Access to connect to Pervasive data, you must use an ODBC Interface.
Pervasive.SQL provides communication between Pervasive engines and ODBC-enabled applications. ODBC does not process the database requests itself. Instead, it accepts database requests from ODBC-enabled applications-such as Access-and translates the requests into Pervasive.SQL calls.
