Performing Simple Installation Customizations

The Pervasive.SQL installation programs are designed so that you can perform a variety of basic customizations without having to recompile the programs. You can perform these customizations by editing the file ptksetup.ini.

Here are a few of the customizations you can perform by editing the file:

specify the license key you want installed with the product

specify modules that will potentially interfere with the installation so that the Install program will inform the user of the conflict.

specify whether Pervasive System Analyzer should be run to test the functionality of the install after copying components.

The keys and sections in the ptksetup.ini file are commented to help you understand their purpose. Please refer to one of the ptksetup.ini files included with Pervasive.SQL 9.

Note
When integrating Pervasive.SQL 9 into your applications, make sure you also install the SQL Relational Database Engine. The SRDE is required if your end-users need to access databases through ODBC.
