About Primal Billing
Primal Billing, based in Irvine, California, enables communications service providers to manage all aspects of the subscriber relationship on wireless or IP networks. This includes mission-critical functions like account creation, mediation, provisioning, usage tracking, rating, billing, customer management, reporting and marketing analysis.

Business Challenge
Primal needed help solving archival logging problems. Their NetWare platform had been addressed previously, and now Primal's needs shifted to the Windows NT platform.

PSG Solution
Primal Billing knew Pervasive Software's Professional Services Group (PSG) to be a competent, hard-working bunch. After all, PSG had previously designed a custom Pervasive.SQLTM 7 solution to solve an archival logging problem in Primal's NetWare environment. But late one Friday afternoon, Primal discovered they needed to address their Windows NT environment as well, and that's when they truly realized PSG's value.

Friday, 4:00 p.m. - When most were looking to beat the traffic rush home, the Pervasive Professional Services Group went to work. Working throughout the weekend, PSG designed and tested the Pervasive PSQL solution for the Windows NT environment, ensuring that Primal could meet their customers' Monday deadlines. PSG finished not only within Primal's necessary timeframe, but also within estimated costs. A short time later, Primal brought PSG back to deploy the same solution on their Solaris platform as well.

"The Pervasive team did some database development work to facilitate our replication scheme for archival logging. The initial work focused on Pervasive PSQL for NetWare only, and when we discovered that we also needed the feature for Windows NT and Solaris, Pervasive charged ahead with a refreshing "no-problem" attitude. On very short notice, Pervasive's Professional Services Group worked on the project over a weekend. Their fast turnaround enabled us to meet our customer deadlines," said Sanjay Gupta, Director of Outfront Development.

Bottom Line
PSG designed and tested the Pervasive PSQL solution for the Windows NT environment, ensuring that Primal could meet their customers' Monday deadlines. In all, PSG deployed Pervasive PSQL to NetWare, NT, and Solaris, finishing them all within Primal's necessary timeframe and costs constraints.
