The document contains the following topics:
The Btrieve API for Pervasive PSQL SDK consists of interfaces for supported programming languages (header files), samples, and documentation that enable you to develop transactional applications for the Pervasive PSQL engine.
The Btrieve API includes support for 64-bit applications.
The Btrieve API contains new and changed functionality for Pervasive PSQL v10.10. See What’s New in Pervasive PSQL for details.
Existing install of Pervasive PSQL v10.10 database engine if you want to use the new features available in Pervasive PSQL v10.10.
The runtime files for the Btrieve API access method are installed with the Pervasive PSQL engine by default.
The header files and samples files are available via Web download: http://www.pervasive.com/developerzone/access_methods/btrieve.asp.
Note that for 64-bit applications you must define the preprocessor symbol BTI_WIN_64 (for Windows platforms) and link against w64btrv.lib. For Linux, you need to define the preprocessor symbol BTI_LINUX_64 and link against the libpsqlmif library.
For 32-bit applications, define the preprocessor symbol BTI_WIN_32 (for Windows) and link against w3btrv7.lib. For Linux, define preprocessor symbol BTI_LINUX and link against the libpsqlmif library
The 32-bit and 64-bit import library have been compiled with Microsoft Visual Studio 2005.
In the Pervasive PSQL SDK documentation, see Btrieve API Guide and Pervasive PSQL Programmer's Guide.
