PERVASIVE.SQL^™ 2000i SELECTED TO POWER NEWEST VERSION OF NETCELLENT’S FLAGSHIP PRODUCT

AUSTIN, Texas—October 9, 2001 — Pervasive Software^® Inc. (Nasdaq:PVSW), a leading provider of embedded and Web database software that powers business-critical applications, today announced NETcellent System, Inc., a provider of accounting, business management and e-business software solutions, is embedding the scalable and flexible Pervasive.SQL^™ 2000i database server engine into the latest Internet-ready version of its flagship product, ELLIOTT 7.0.

With Pervasive.SQL 2000i, ELLIOTT offers users a very stable, high-performance database engine that works at both the transactional and relational level. The open database connectivity (ODBC) and object link embedded database (OLEDB) drivers in Pervasive.SQL 2000i give ELLIOTT customers a powerful Web interface, making the software more versatile and able to support their business needs.
