PSQL Radio: Jim B. Talks about a Birthday, a Beta and a DDF Builder!

The Pervasive PSQL world is hopping these days, and in his “audio blog” this month, PSQL Product Manager Jim Beecher (aka Jim B.) brings us up to date.

First, he tells us about some the latest goings on with the big Btrieve 25th Anniversary, which features a number of activities including the Btrieve Time Machine Web site, a special product promotion, a recent party (with lots of candles!) and more.

Jim also announces Pervasive’s new PSQL Provider for ADO.NET 2.0, which allows developers to work with the Microsoft 2.0 and 3.0 frameworks to develop applications using 100% managed provider, and to take advantage of the feature sets of that platform.

And speaking of Microsoft, he reminds listeners of Pervasive’s white paper on Windows Vista™ Compatibility with PSQL v9. Apparently, users are quite interested in the topic, as downloads are running hundreds per week.

And last but not least, Jim piques listeners’ interest by alerting them to the fact that Pervasive is close to releasing an updated version of our Data Dictionary File ... or DDF Builder, which allows developers and users the ability to create and modify the necessary metadata structure of the Pervasive PSQL data files for full relational access. Stay tuned for the breaking news!
