DDF Builder, FTS: Because Developers Need a Life Too
Development projects will get a whole lot easier to complete when you use the DDF Builder. Dedicated to the creation and management of DDFs, it leverages the Eclipse-based (Java) framework developed in PSQL v9's new PSQL Control Center (PCC). DDF Builder also provides three simultaneous views of your data: Hex, ASCII, and SQL Preview. Take a look at the DDF Builder demo for your personal tour.

Also available for download is Full Text Search (FTS). FTS is an SDK that allows developers to add text searching to PSQL v9 databases, making it much easier to find strings in large data sets. You can also search character and numeric data types for number strings, conduct Boolean searches for true and false values, and there’s support for "AND" and "OR" searches. Take a look at the FTS demo to learn more.

Data Replication and 'Hot' Backup Made Easy: Data Exchange
Sure, it's easy to use, but the technology behind DataExchange is sophisticated, enabling fast, highly accurate data transfers for highly effective data backup and synchronization to Pervasive PSQL databases. Ensure customers, mobile users, occasional users, and applications are all using the same set of data – and that when you need data, you have the right data.

Learn all about DataExchange by reading the product sheet here. Also, take full advantage by viewing our guided tour through our informative DataExchange demo here.
NOTE: Pervasive.SQL v8 requires DataExchange 2.7 and Pervasive PSQL v9 requires DataExchange 2.8. No problem! They’re both shipped on the same CD
DataExchange Key Benefits
- Replication can occur continuously or at scheduled intervals.
- Ongoing backups reduce exposure between periodic backups (if database is backed up as changes happen rather than once a day or once a week, it's much less likely that data will be lost in an outage).
- Data synchronization provides a consistent set of data for multiple users – whether it is separate reporting applications or remote users (customers, mobile sales force, occasionally connected applications).
Data Exchange adds two components to your Pervasive database:
- Replication Event Handler (REH) – With a change event (insert, update, delete), REH is activated by the database engine and logs the change event to a control table.
- Replication Engine – Reads the control tables created by the replication event handler and shares the changes with other databases participating in the replication network.
Data Exchange should be part of any Pervasive database solution that:
- Wants to ensure mission critical data gets backed up regularly
- Wants to share a common data view with multiple "customers" (applications, users)
- Wants to make sure that data stays available when and where it's needed

Case for A Case: Promote Your Business and Get Amazonian Returns
The value of embedded databases is difficult to promote to the press, since by their very nature they are "invisible" to most people. But most database customers understand very well about business problems - and applications that can solve them. The ability to communicate to others the value of an application's solution is best accomplished through case studies http://www.pervasive.com/company/ successStories/index.asp, for as we all know, people are best influenced and informed by reading real life situations to which they can relate.
The Case for A Case program exists to assist you in promoting Pervasive technology and increasing your business bottom line. By submitting an application description, you'll receive an Amazon Gift card. If your submission is something we can build upon, we'll write the case story for you and distribute it to the media and to Pervasive customers and prospects.
Check out what kind of FREE media exposure this program yields.
It gets better! If we publish your case study, you'll win a Samsonite computer case of Amazon Gift cards.
If you think you have a Pervasive PSQL v9 application potential customer case study - or a solution using Backup Agent, AuditMaster, or DataExchange - we're very eager to hear about it. Click here for full details on this exciting and rewarding program!
