John Farr

President and Chief Executive Officer

John Farr became the President and CEO of Pervasive in January 2006, and his executive focus has been on profitable earnings growth while fostering a culture of innovation. As CEO, John has worked to consolidate and streamline organizational and operational structures while making the product investments that provide Pervasive partners and customers with a compelling combination of performance, flexibility, reliability and low total cost of ownership. 

John’s leadership track record in his career with Pervasive dates to when he joined the company soon after its inception in 1994. A certified public accountant, John initially served in various financial and accounting capacities, including five years as the company's Chief Financial Officer. Under his executive and financial leadership, Pervasive has achieved consecutive quarters of profitability since 2001.

Prior to joining Pervasive, John spent 12 years in public accounting with KPMG LLP, an international accounting firm. John received his B.S. in business administration, Summa Cum Laude, from Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas.

Randy Jonkers

Chief Financial Officer

Randy Jonkers, CPA, joined the company as Vice President of Finance and now serves as Pervasive's Chief Financial Officer. Randy previously served in various capacities as CFO, EVP, interim CEO and Board Member of WSNet, a $60 million privately owned satellite broadcasting and equipment reseller from 1998 to 2005.

Randy also served as CFO for Healthway Communications International Inc., a $10 million privately owned high-technology company, from 1995 to 1998; in various corporate accounting and reporting roles for Dell Computer Corporation from 1989 to 1995; as an auditor for Cooper & Lybrand from 1987 to 1989; as well as a ten-year career (active and reserve duty) with the US Army as a Material Management Officer and Chief Logistics Officer.

He received his B.B.A. from The University of Texas at Austin in 1987.

Mike Hoskins

Chief Technology Officer

Michael Hoskins directs the Pervasive Big Data and Analytics Products and Solutions team, and evangelizes Pervasive’s innovations in big data challenges, including cloud-based and on-premises data management and integration. 

Mike received the AITP Austin chapter's 2007 Information Technologist of the Year Award for his leadership in developing Pervasive DataRush™, a highly parallelized framework to leverage multicore. 

Mike, a Distinguished and Centennial Alumnus of Ohio’s Bowling Green State University, is a respected technology thinker who speaks worldwide. He participated in the “Open Standards and Cloud Computing” panel at the 2009 Annual Conference on Knowledge Discovery and Data Mining, the “Scaling the Database in the Cloud” panel at Structure 2010, the “Many Faces of MapReduce - Hadoop and Beyond” panel at Structure Big Data 2011 and delivered the DeployCon keynote in 2012: “The Waking Giant: The Coming Era of Enterprise-Ready PaaS.” Discussion topics include applying parallelism to tackle big data, gaining price/performance efficiency in the Hadoop ecosystem, Software as a Service and cloud-based data services. Gilbert Van Cutsem

General Manager, Database Products

Gilbert Van Cutsem is responsible for the growth, development, and success of Database Products. He has served as Vice President, EMEAA, and was Managing Director of Pervasive Software N.V., the Pervasive subsidiary in Brussels, Belgium, overseeing the company's sales and marketing activities in the Baltic States, the Benelux and Nordic countries. 

Gilbert joined Pervasive Software in September 1995 as Business Development Manager for Europe. He was named Pervasive's Entrepreneur of the Year in 1999, the company's most prestigious honor. With more than 20 years of IT industry experience, Gilbert has held a wide range of marketing and sales positions in Europe. Prior to joining Pervasive, he was Channel and Product Marketing Manager at Novell Benelux and Director of Marketing at AT&T's EMEA headquarters.

Gilbert holds degrees in computer science (Na.Ra.Fi. Brussels) and business administration (V.E.H. Brussels) and earned his Master's degree in Business Economics from FUCAM (Mons, Belgium). Gilbert is a Vlerick Leuven Ghent Management School Alumnus.

Steve Padgett

Vice President, Information Technology

Steve brings more than 20 years of experience in managing IT infrastructure to his role as Vice President of Information Technology. As Pervasive’s Vice President of Information Technology, Steve is focused on maximizing the value of information systems, evaluating leading-edge technology and delivering innovative ideas for maintaining flexible, business- and customer-focused solutions. He comes with extensive knowledge gained from executive roles including serving as the first Chief Information Officer at Tivoli Systems and Chief Technology Officer for Supportkids, Inc., where he established technology infrastructures that supported revenue and business growth.

Earlier, Steve distinguished himself as a Senior Manager at Dell Computer Corporation, where he was instrumental in laying the IT foundation that supported rapid growth while controlling costs. He began his management career in consulting at Price Waterhouse Coopers in multiple markets.

Steve graduated Magna Cum Laude from The University of Texas at Austin with an M.B.A. in information systems management and a B.B.A. in communications.

Lance Speck

General Manager, Integration Products

Lance Speck is Vice President and General Manager, Integration Products for Pervasive, responsible for the growth of the data integration business unit and its strategic leadership position in delivering innovative on-premise and cloud-based integration.  In more than a decade at Pervasive, Lance has served in a variety of senior management roles, most recently as Senior Director of Sales, Marketing and Services for Pervasive Integration Products.

His team is responsible for thought leadership and execution strategy for integration products delivered via direct and indirect channels, including SaaS vendors, ISVs, and BPOs, as well as to the enterprise. These primarily address data management, data quality, and data integration for customers in industries including healthcare, financial services, billing, marketing automation, retail, HR, and logistics, as well as local, state and federal government.

Lance joined Pervasive Software in 2001 from United Devices, where he was a senior account executive focused on providing grid solutions and distributed computing software and services.  Prior to United Devices, Lance worked as an Account Executive at Pervasive including moving to San Jose in 1999 to open an office in Cupertino.  Lance worked for Lotus Development Corporation prior to and after the acquisition by IBM.  

Lance holds a BA in government from The University of Texas at Austin.
